He was predeceased by: his wife Thelma Faye Dixon; his parents, Ed Dixon and Louis Dixon; and his siblings, Susan Gross (Dixon), Bill Dixon, Buddy Dixon, Ruby Dixon and Jack Dixon.

He is survived by: his son-in-law Arthur Gross (Susan); his granddaughter Nikki Millsap (David); his great grandchildren, Vanessa, Josilyn, Sabrina, Selena, Nathan and Nalaly; his great great grandchildren, Paislee, Peyton, Logan, Remi and Annie; and his sisters, Ruth Hardin and Rose Jefferson.
