It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Curtis Remus of Hobart, Indiana, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on November 1, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dora and William; and his siblings, Bill, Randy and Catherine Sue.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara C.; his children, Lisa Marie, Kurt Mathew and Marc Christopher; his granddaughter Olivia Jane; his sister-in-law Barbara A. (Randy); and his nephews, Jeff Burkhalter of Oregon and Todd Burkhalter of Nevada.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342).
There he continued his tradition of giving back—donating straw bales and corn stalks for Halloween celebrations at local schools or providing beautiful Christmas trees for classroom decorations.
