He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernie Higgins and Margie Higgins; his siblings, Richard, Bob and Sandy Schuetzenhofer; and his former wife Mae Higgins.
He is survived by: his children, Denise Adkins (Jeff) and Mike Maxwell (Rae); his grandsons, Trevor and Jeremy Adkins (Katy); his great grandchild Garrett; and his siblings, Burkie Higgins (Roberta) and Sharon Pastry (George). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel (600 W Old Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342).
