He was predeceased by: his wife Laura Karsten; his grandson Ronald Foster; his parents, Harry Karsten and Alice Karsten; and his brothers, Larry and Fred Karsten.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Sonntag (George Dvojacki), Wendy Sander and Edmon Karsten, Jr.; his grandchildren, Tia Davis, Heather Sonntag, Jessica Chevalier-Sonntag (Meissa), Kimberly, Kristina Foster, Lillian Welsh (Mike) and Andrew Karsten; and his great grandchildren, Emily Stephenson, Gracie Foster and Evelyn Welsh.
