He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertha Ferguson and Hubert Embry Sr.; his son Richard Thad Embry; and his brother Charles Erwin Maiden. He is survived by: his girlfriend Joanie Land; his pet Buddy of Hope, Indiana.; his children, Pamela Bratcher (Dwayne) of Hartford, Kentucky, Cathy Calloway (Matt) of Hartford, Kentucky, Josh Land (Alyssa), Joe Land (Laura) of Indiana and Molly Land (Jamie Cluesman) of Virginia; and his sister Jerrie O'Brien (Mavis Embry). He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one bonus grandson.
