Schmidt; his children, Tad, Kate Nelson of Indianapolis, IN and Tara Trueblood of Howe, IN; his grandchildren, Heath Nelson, Patrick Nelson and Dean Trueblood; and his mother-in-law Lou Ann Schmidt-Cummings.
