He was predeceased by: his brother Kerry Chorpenning. He is survived by: his wife Cyndy Chorpenning of Hudson; his children, Jayson Chorpenning (Deidri) of Ashley and Charleen Dargis (Brent Novotny) of Hudson; his grandchildren, Kayla Maestas, Taylor Murley, Cameron Dargis (Emily), Danielle Dargis and Mason Dargis; and his great grandchildren, Wren Murley, Eli Maestas and Grey Maestas.

Preferred memorials are to the Hudson United Brethren Church or the Steuben County Humane Society.
