He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Kemp and Helen Kemp (Underwood); and his siblings, Leroy, Ball, Gerald "Bub" Kemp, Dorothy "Dot" Neal, Bill "Billy Joe" Kemp and Danny Kemp.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Kemp of Huntingburg; his son Barry; his sister Peggy Stratman of Jasper; and his grandchildren, Amanda White (Josh) of David, Brienna Kemp, Kyle Rummel (Erica), Morgan Rummel, Chynna Howe (Tyler), Colby Kemp (Tori), Colton Frick (Tati) and Caitlyn Frick (Philip Hayden). He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
