She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Early Simpson and Ruth Marie Dunn; and her siblings, Eugene Simpson, Helena Smith, Robert Simpson and Wilbur Simpson.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Denton (Jill) of Ramsey, IN, Retha Eastep (Bill) of Cisne, IL, Wilbur Denton (Diane) of St. Anthony, IN, Sheryl Messmer (Pat) of Huntington, IN, Robert Denton of Mattoon, IL and Alena Thompson (Andy) of Mattoon, IL; and her sister Mary Louise Pontious of Dieterich, IL. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1110 N 4th St, Effingham, IL 62401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
