He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Waninger and Frances Waninger (Kleiser); his wife Betty Jean Braunecker; his siblings, Edgar Waninger, Alvin Waninger, Dennis Waninger, Clarence Waninger, Frank Waninger and Pauline Gogel; and his son-in-law Byron Ison.
He is survived by: his daughters, Denise Kitten (Rick) of Ferdinand and Brenda Ison of Jeffersonville; his grandchildren, Hannah Ison, Max Kitten, Ben Kitten and Sara Kitten; his great grandchildren, Everett Kitten and Brooks Kitten; and his siblings, Anna Mae Peters of Fulda, Agnes Witte of Ferdinand and Robert Waninger (Diane) of Lamar.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Anthony Catholic Church (4442 S Ohio St, St Anthony, IN 47575). A burial was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
