He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald E. Shaffer and Claudine Shaffer (Bauer); his grandchildren, Noah Shaffer and Kai Cohen; and his brother Richard Shaffer.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie; his children, Jon R. Shaffer of Fort Wayne, IN, Jerrod D. Shaffer (Katy) of Neenah, WI, Dominic A. Shaffer (Tiffany) of Oshkosh, WI, Phillip F. Shaffer of Huntington, IN and Kristiane C. Cohen (Kody) of Huntington, IN; his grandchildren, Abigail Shaffer, Chester Shaffer, Lilly Shaffer, Alexys Shaffer, Bryce Shaffer, Keegan Cohen, Rose Shaffer, Megan Shaffer, Izzy Shaffer, Kenna Cohen, Theo Shaffer, Nathan Shaffer, Emily Shaffer, Phillip Shaffer and Kinlee Cohen; and his sister-in-law Vicki Shaffer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
