He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Timothy Eckert (Sherry) of Huntington, IN, Christopher Eckert (Alane) of Huntington, IN, Laura Hinen (Edward) of Huntington, IN, Todd Eckert (Maria) of Huntington, IN, Andrew Eckert (Stephanie) of Andrews, IN, Nicholas Eckert (Jodi) of Huntington, IN., Mary Jane Campbell (Cory) of Huntington, IN. and Nathan Eckert (Jami) of Huntington, IN.; his siblings, Kenney Eckert (Cheri) of Huntington, IN, Raymond Eckert of Huntington, IN, Betty Kindler of Huntington, IN., Mary Jane Bartrom of Huntington, IN., Marilyn Hayes (Buddy) of Huntington, IN. and Diane Carl (Jim) of Huntington, IN.; his grandchildren, Alicia Eckert (Kristin Ousley), Caitlin Eckert (Cody Morris), Ethan Richardson, Amelia Eckert, Ian Eckert (Gabriela), Alec Eckert, Emma Kline (Jamison), Luke Eckert, Huston Smith II, Tiffany Martz (JJ), Jennifer Faronbi (Opeyemi), Michael Hinen (Anna), Anastascia Hogan (Matthew), Auden Eckert, Olivia Eckert (Savanah), Sebastian Eckert (Brook), Aleah Wiley (Trevor), Elijah Eckert, Caleb Eckert (Kylee Sheets), Samuel Eckert, Madison Wohlford (Conner Hamilton), Alexandria Campbell, Owen Campbell, Jaiden Eckert, Carson Eckert, Stella Eckert and Evelyn Eckert; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Huston, Juliana, Izabelle, Gabriel, Layla, Jamison, Isaiah, Benjamin, Chloe, Gerard, Ryleigh, River and Iris.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, November 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Peter & Paul Catholic Church (860 Cherry St, Huntington, IN 46750). A rosary was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Huntington Catholic School, the Knights of Columbus Council #1014, or United with Love in Huntington County in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
