He was predeceased by: his parents, Hayden O. Bowers and Clara Bowers (Parrett); his daughter Debbie Tackett; and his siblings, Richard, Hayden, Jack, Norman, Larry, Donald Bowers, Evelyn Raber, Velene Gibler and Juanita Holley.
He is survived by: his children, Amy Bowers, Gary "Jake" Bowers Jr. of Huntington and Jeff Bowers (Kim) of Huntington; his sister Roxanna Shumate (Bob) of Huntington; his grandchildren, Stephanie Bowers, Jacob Bowers, Josh Dyke, Tasia Harbaugh (Cody), Dalton Heister and Devin Heister; and his great grandchildren, Teagan Herrick and Noah Bowers.
