She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Swoverland and Eileen Swoverland (Karst); and her husband Rex M. Hammel. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Hammel (Marie) of Andrews, IN, Chad, Michelle Hammel of Warren, IN and Heather Eckert (Matt) of Andrews, IN; her sisters, Janet Ormsby of Markle, IN and Judy Myers (Jim) of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren, Jarod Hammel (Emily), Jamon Hammel (Lindsay), Hayden Hammel, Isaac Brown, Emily Nielson, Brandon Eckert (Hannah), Nicole Eckert, Amara Eckert and Josie Eckert; and her sister Jean Conner. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Miles for Myeloma or for Masses in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN.
