He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Smith (Rose) and Marie Smith (Soper); his spouse Shirley Irene Stites; his brother Carl Smith; his nephews, Kent Stell and David Fisher; and his great grandchild Lainey Drabenstot.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Walker (Jeffrey), Candace Smith of Huntington, Eric Smith (Marissa) of Canon and Gregory Smith (Kelly) of Indianapolis; his siblings, Jack Smith of Huntington and Sharon Turner of Huntington; and his grandchildren, Jestine Brewer, Christopher Walker (Lindsi), Jennifer Walker, Caila Smith, Matthew Smith, Zach Smith and Isaac Smith. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
