He was predeceased by : his parents, Christen Borntreger and Dena Borntreger (Hochstetler); and his wife Carolyn Sue Lhamon (Gaskill). He is survived by : his children, Tim Borntreger of Fort Wayne, Todd Borntreger of Scipio, Melissa Borntreger Ostrow of Marion, Robert Borntreger of Huntington, Bradley (Candy Borntreger), Neal (Lori Lhamon) and Rick Lhamon of Huntington; and his brother Joe Borntreger of Centerville, Michigan.. He is also survived by two sisters and six brothers.

A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Christian Life Tabernacle (943 Swan St, Huntington, IN 46750).
