He was predeceased by: his father Lee O. Hoffman; and his granddaughter Jodi Hoffman. He is survived by: his wife Katherine J. Hartley; his sons, Dennis Hoffman (Jill) of League City, TX, Kirk Hoffman (Judy) of Columbia City, IN, Scott Hoffman (Julie) of Huntington, IN, Hal Hoffman (Julia) of Huntington, IN and Andrew Hoffman (Lana) of Roanoke, IN; his sisters, Loretta Stephens of Roanoke, IN and Marcia Schoenaur (DeWayne) of Payne, OH; and his grandchildren, Kim Lott (John), Kari Chapman, Kelli Kreider (Tayler), Mindi Troyer (Spencer), Christie Strass (Ian), Ryan Hoffman (Breanne), Landon Hoffman (Adrienne), Amanda Garner (Jeremy), Chris Hoffman, Jason Hoffman, Sara Harmon (Derek) and Luke Hoffman (Marissa). He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Roanoke Historical Museum or the Huntington County.
