He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Birkhold and Doris Birkhold (Maat). He is survived by: his wife Valerie Wetherbee; his children, Jeremy Bontrager of Lagrange, Indiana, Nathan Bontrager (Heather) of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, Ryan Bontrager (Susan) of Jackson, Michigan, Philip Birkhold (Ashley) of Lakeland, Florida. and Shannon Birkhold (Dylan Tolbert) of Portage, Michigan; and his brother Mike Birkhold (Patty) of Spring Lake, Michigan. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
