He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. David Tavel and Kitty Tavel; and his brother Donald L. Tavel. He is survived by: his brothers, Dr. Larry S. Tavel (Sandi) and R. J. Tavel; his niece Mollie Tavel (Josh Kaback); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Doni Tavel (Zack Fox) and Lauren Tavel (Derek Fohrman); and his niece Amy Tavel.
