He was predeceased by: his parents, Benny Lee Yates and Lalla B. Moore; his former wife Viola "Little Choice" Yates; and his son Randall "Randy" Yates. He is survived by: his sons, Sheldon LeMoine (Carol) and Brinton Linell Yates; his wife Faye C. Yates; his daughter Whitley J. Yates; and his stepchildren, Jeffrey Hughes (Cynthia), Shelly Brewer (Lloyd) and Bridgitt White (Carlos). He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
