Cecilia Nahmias Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecilia Nahmias of Indianapolis, Indiana, born in Springfield, Massachusetts, who passed away on April 28, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Weinberg and Sarah Leah Weinberg (Cohen); and her sisters, Styra Tucker and Barbara Rubin. She is survived by: her husband Morris P. "Moe" Nahmias of Indianapolis; her children, Nancy D. Thompson, Scott A. Nahmias, Paul R. (Sarah) and D. S.; her grandchildren, Leslie Thompson Pecar (Ben), Gregory Thompson (Lani), Leah Nahmias, Emily Nahmias Brown (Adam), David Nahmias and Michael Nahmias; and her great grandchildren, Logan, Reagan Thompson, Jordan Pecar, Benson, Cohen and Ari Brown.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will not be public sitting of shiva.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Cecile may do so by making a contribution to the Etz Chaim Congregation, Riley's Children's Hospital, the Employee Fund at Marquette Manor, or their favorite charity in her name and by being joyful and kind.
