With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald Nelson Smith Jr. (Indianapolis, Indiana), born in Corpus Christi, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 21, 2026 at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Nelson Smith and Mabel Claire Fuqua Smith; and his sisters, Claire Hook and Susan Tiller. He is survived by: his children, Lauren Smith-Ramesh, Brian Smith, Jason Smith and Allison Teeters.
