Irene Sopp Furman Obituary

We announce the death of Irene Sopp Furman (Indianapolis, Indiana), who passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 86. Irene will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Sopp and Mary Sopp; and her husband Mike. She is survived by: her daughter Beth Furman Schmal; her son-in-law Don Schmal of Phoenix, Arizona; her son Jim Furman of Chicago, Illinois; and her grandchildren, Lily, Owen, Ian Schmal, Juliet and Sam Shaw-Furman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marquette (8140 Township Line Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46260). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marquette Foundation.
