He was predeceased by: his parents, John Andrew Plahitko and Mary Margaret Plahitko (Potiseck); his wife Hazel Evelyn Shaw; his son Alvin Ray (Mary Ann); and his siblings, John, Robert (late Wanda) and Dorothy Wallace (late Gary).
He is survived by: his pet Joe; his sister Eleanor Calvert (late Jerry); his children, James William, Jr. (Vicki) and Linda Charlene Gosnell; and his daughter-in-law Mary Ann Worrell (late Alvin Ray Plahitko). He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
