He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmond O. Alvis and Josephine M. Alvis; and his siblings, Margaret Jane Alvis Smiley (C. Philip) and David L. (Patricia K.). He is survived by: his wife Judith G. Bernhardt Alvis; his stepchildren, Scott A. Willis (Anne), Kevin J. Willis (Gayle), Todd M. Willis (Lisa) and Micheline H. Johnson (Bill); and his nephew David. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren.
