She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Thomas Shank and Wanda Shank; her in-laws, Ivan and Lois Woodard; her siblings, Elizabeth Jones, Thomas Shank (Marcy), Bruce Shank (Angie) and Susan Moriarty (David); her husband Bennet Woodard; her children, Denise Matio (Jared), Jennifer Eddy (Joel), Michael Woodard (Sasha), Matthew Woodard (Christina) and Christine Caldwell (Chase); her grandchildren, Andrea Kirschling (Denver), Emily Jones (Tanner), Aaron Matio (Olivia), Allison Sales (Kevin), Jacob Eddy, Alexander Eddy, Aidan Woodard, Oliver Woodard, Myah Woodard, Josh Woodard, Addax Caldwell and Quinn Caldwell; and her in-laws, Phil Woodard (Carol) and Myra Neuman. She was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Legacy Funeral Home (1604 W Morris St, Indianapolis, IN 46221). A celebration of life was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, in memory of Janet's enduring spirit and the love she shared with all who knew her.
