She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Strong and Pinkie Mae Strong; her son Peter J. Duncan; her husband Robert H. Duncan; and her siblings, Hurley V. Strong, Lee Clark of Missouri and Dorothy M. Taylor.
She is survived by: her daughters, Linda B. Royster and Iris M. Young; her daughter-in-law Deirdre M. Duncan; her grandchildren, Keenon N. Jones (Tracy), Lisa M. Duncan, John G. Young, Jr. (Andria) and DeJeri M. Young; her great grandchildren, Johnathan A. Young, Jalen A. Young, Aimee M. Underwood, Trey D. Jones (Kenya), Shawnishan Steele and Marie Webster; and her great great grandchildren, Jeremiah P. Kyner, Eve L. Steele and Winsten E. Payton.
She received many accolades of Appreciation from the Democratic Party, Rosa Parks Foundation, NAACP, Indiana House of Representative and many more appreciations and recognitions.
