She was predeceased by: her siblings, Cecilia Thomas and Kenneth Holland, Jr.; and her children, Shirley Smith and Joseph Smith, Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Barbara Coleman, Marcia Charlton, Charlotte Gaines, Donna Lawrence, Linda Holland and Leonard Holland; her former husband Joseph "Joe" Smith, Sr.; her children, Rhonda Smith, Melanie Green and Gail of Washington; her stepdaughter Nancy Webb; and her husband Thomas Howard, Sr.. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other relatives, many friends and her church family.
