He was predeceased by : his father John B. Schaefer. He is survived by : his wife Ruth Schaefer (Neumeister); his children, John Schaefer (Dannetta), Scott Schaefer (Alberto) and Julia Hommel (David); his grandchildren, John Schaefer (Heather), Ricky Schaefer, Meiara Schaefer (Tanner), Reese, Emery and Faith Hommel; his great grandchild Adalyn Schaefer; and his sister Anita Biltz.
