He was predeceased by: his wife Flora Pearl Smith Ford; his parents, Joe Denver Ford and Pearl Holeman Ford; his sisters, Lorene (Ruel Wheat), Willie (Johnnie Jordan), Juanita (Gene Cox) and Olene (Don Hall); and his nephew Allen Wheat.

He is survived by: his sibling's children, Joe Wheat (Brenda) of Danville Indiana, Alan Hall of Indianapolis Indiana, James Jordan (Naomi), Patty Cornwell, Peggy Goodman (Charles) of Glasgow Kentucky, Sue Petty (Steve) of Indianapolis Indiana and Rhonda Coxson (Eugene).
