He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert R. Gruner (Fritz) and Patricia Gruner (Woirhaye); his siblings, Joan Elizabeth Yohler, David R. Gruner and Patricia Ann Gruner; and his stepsiblings, Patricia Wells, Mary Rita Riley and Joseph Sullivan.
He is survived by: his wife Jana Mason Gruner; his children, Andrea Carrothers (Matt), Allison Bodine (Trent) and Adam Gruner (Shelby); his grandchildren, Marin Bodine, Elise Bodine, Ruby Gruner, Graham Bodine, Gus Gruner and Theo Carrothers; and his brother Michael Gruner (Patty).
His contributions to the community and the lives of young people will be remembered for generations.
