We bid farewell to John Winkler of Indianapolis, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 29, 2025 at the age of 84. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Winkler and Mary Winkler John (Skinner). He is survived by: his children, Lauri Piskorowski (Thomas) and John R. Winkler II; his grandchildren, Jordan Piskorowski, Tyler Piskorowski and Garrett Winkler; his wife Carol Winkler (Payne); and his sister Catherine Burns (Winkler). He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Singleton & St. Pierre Funeral & Cremation Services (7602 Madison Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46227). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Franciscan Hospice House, where John received exceptional care in the last weeks of his life, or to The Scottish Rite of Indianapolis.
