It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Sue Howery of Indianapolis, Indiana, born in Connersville, Indiana, who passed away on April 7, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Townsend and Sarah Susan "Suddie" Townsend; her siblings, Wanda M. Waters and Lonnie C. Townsend; her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey R. Townsend, Kevin W. Waters, Kenneth M. Waters, Daniel J. Caldwell, Juanita G. Waters, Katherine S. Waters and Kimberly K. Townsend; and her siblings-in-law, June Townsend, James Caldwell and Mike Waters.

She is survived by : her husband Gary Wayne Howery; her children, Darrell W. Howery (Yvonne), Jennifer S. Howery of Indianapolis, IN and Anthony B. Howery (Cindy); her grandchildren, Savannah M. Moran (White), Amelia R. Baker, Matthew B. Howery, Michael W. Howery, Joshua A. Howery, Elijah B. Wolf, Jasmine N. Howery, Tyler M. Howery, Sarah J. Howery, Katelyn M. Howery and Makayla R. Howery; and her siblings, Oliver Townsend (Carole) of Surprise, AZ, Gregory Townsend (Kathy) of Sheridan, IN, Renie Caldwell of Connersville, IN, Teresa Kelley (James) of Bowling Green, KY, Vivian Frost (Dillon) of Indianapolis, IN and Sharon Frost (Ken) of Greenfield, IN. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Greenfield First Church of the Nazarene (1980 S State St, Greenfield, IN 46140). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Memorial Park Cemetery (9350 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229).
