She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Girton and Rebecca Girton; and her sister Cynthia Elaine Girton. She is survived by: her husband John Howald; and her children, Laura Albright (Patrick), Brooks Howald (Lisa) and Carson Howald (Jittra).
