He was predeceased by : his parents, Herbert Hartman and Lenora; and his stepfather Elmer Kleiman. He is survived by : his wife Deborah; his children, Kelly Hartman (Mel) and Keith "Buzz" Hartman, Jr.; and his stepdaughters, Chrystal Rogers and Rachel Hitch-Johnson. He is also survived by his wife loved time with friends and family, especially their kids and 8 grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Old Bethel United Methodist Church.
