She was predeceased by: her parents, Dora Stephens and Clarence Jennings; her former spouse Thomas Edward Smith Sr.; her son Thomas Edward Smith Jr.; and her siblings, Esther Bennett and James Gillispie.
She is survived by: her husband James A. Dale; her daughter Patricia L. Bacon (Jerry); her granddaughters, Keesha A. Green and Rhianon J. Hatcher (Marcus Rodney); and her great grandchildren, Vera I. Beatty, Alysia J. Green, Jamia A. Green, Garrett J. Green, Alexandria J. Green and Marcus A. Hatcher. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-love, granddaughters and great grandchildren.
