We are sad to announce that on July 13, 2025, at the age of 73, Mae Comstock of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Mae had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Mae may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Smothers and Mary Smothers (Elliot). She is survived by: her daughter Shannon Vassar (Matthew) of Indianapolis; and her siblings, Peggy Milner (Gary) of Florida, Crissy Leffler (Todd) of Shelbyville, Ronnie Smothers (Mary) of Shelbyville, Scotty Smothers (Kim) of Shelbyville and Rickey Smothers of Tennessee. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home (437 Amos Rd, Shelbyville, IN 46176).
Memorial contributions can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
