He was predeceased by: his parents, Darrell Griffey and Elsie Louise Cunningham Griffey (Cunningham); his siblings, Darrell Francis Griffey, David Allen Griffey, Ronald Ray Griffey, Mary Jane Marschand and Betty Zane Tucker; his nephews, Steven Marschand and Rick Darland; and his niece Susan Marschand.
He is survived by: his wife Blanca "Estrella" Gomez; his sisters, Janice Kidder (Ralph) of Brownsburg and Cecilia Wilhelm (Dennis) of Punta Gorda, FL; his children, Michael Griffey II (Lena) of Titusville, FL, April Candace Brey (Jake) of Silt, CO, Sonia Rosenthal (Thomas) of Milwaukee, WI, Luis Gomez (Lizanne) of Noblesville, Allan Griffey (Rosalyn) of McCordsville, Janice Griffey (William) of Owensboro, KY, Marisa Griffey (Raul) of Logansport and Wesley Griffey of Mason, OH; and his grandchildren, Darian, Amelia, Everett, Isabella, Elijah, Oliver, Noah, Sebastian, Liam, Allison and Pancho. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Carroll County Historical Society or the Wabash & Erie Canal Society.
