He was predeceased by: his parents, Phat Van Hong and Lich Thi Tran; and his siblings, Tam Hong and Thiep Liest. He is survived by: his wife Mai Doan; his sons, Phong Hong, Phu Hong, Phuong Hong and Phi Hong; his daughters-in-law, Diem Nguyen, Thuy Nguyen and Tien Nguyen; his sibling Tuan Tran; and his son Van Hong. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren.
