He is survived by: his wife Bertha Carpenter; his mother Evelyn Carpenter; his son John Carpenter; his stepdaughter Elizabeth B. Garcia; his sister Cathy Jo Tacoma (Kenneth Lee); and his grandchildren, Antonio Garcia and Luvie L. Jones.
