He was predeceased by: his wife Beverly Hixon; his parents, Clyde Hixon and Irene Browers; his son Ricky Hixon; and his siblings, Keith, Cecil Hixon, Patsy Ellis and Johnnie Hall.

He is survived by: his son Robert Lee Hixon, Sr.; his sister Sue Burchfield; and his grandchildren, Randy Hixon, Robert HIxon, Jr., Heather Hixon, Ricky Hixon, Jr. and Ciera Hixon. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
