He was predeceased by: his parent Dolly Redd; his brothers, James Redd and Dave Redd; his siblings-in-law, Horace Walker, Arthur Johnson and Shirley Redd; his son-in-law Melvin Lyles; and his grandson Jeffrey Jenkins.
He is survived by: his siblings, Melvin Redd Jr. (Margaret), Emma Jean Walker, Dolly Johnson, Patricia Spann (Ray), Clyde Roundtree (Cindy) and Clay Redd; his sisters-in-law, LaDonna Redd and Linda Redd; his wife Florence Redd; and his children, Robert Redd Jr. (Tommika), Tamara Redd-Jenkins, Angela Williams, Brian Williams, Chantel Williams and David Redd (Lynn). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
