He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Utter and Margaret Utter; and his wife Patricia Matthews Utter. He is survived by: his brother Max Utter; his children, Bill Utter (Liz) and Lynn Utter Cutchins (Kelly); his grandchildren, Kelly Utter Schenkman (Jeff), Michael Utter (Lauren), Chris Utter, Clint Cutchins (Layne) and Drew Cutchins; and his great grandchild Chloe Schenkman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Memorial Park Funeral Center (9350 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN 46229). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
