She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Forest Sharrett and Alma Sharrett; her siblings, Helen and Gary Sharrett; her former husband Jack Hite; her children, Shree, Lisa and Ty; her husband George Smith; and her grandchildren, Katie, Evan, Leah, Annah, Noah and Jonah.

She was especially known for her sewing, quilting, and knitting, and in later years, she knitted hundreds of scarves each year to donate to shelters.
