He was predeceased by: his parents, Veachel Richey and Elizabeth Richey (Dillingham). He is survived by: his wife Betty L. Richey; his children, Ronald "Allen", Tonya, Brandy and Christina; and his pet Cappy. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
