She was predeceased by: her parents, Archid Brown and Lillian Brown. She is survived by: her son Larry Gross Jr.; her granddaughter Madisaun Gross; and her siblings, Verne Emerson-Carter, Claretta Griffin and Byron Brown. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

“I worked with Saundra at the YWCA camp in downtown Indy in the late 1960’s. She was a mentor and a friend. We kept in touch through the years but not in the last 10 years. She would send Christmas letters and I tried to find her at the last address I had but did not reach her. I think that may have been 5 years ago. I will never forget her infectious laugh/ giggle. She made a siting my life and in the world. Donna Hurrle Nunley”
