She was predeceased by: her parents, James W. Mays and Leona Applegate (Adams); her husbands, Joseph R. Sloan Sr., Claude Thompson and Andrew Borisenko; her daughter Doraynena Schultz; her sisters, Sherrie Mays and Valerie Gann; her great grandchild Xavier Bailey; and her stepparents, Doris Mays and Leroy Applegate.

She is survived by: her children, Joe Sloan (Rhonda), Ronnie Sloan, Lee Etta Gerhart (Harold), Bradley Sloan and Tena Adaway (Shawndell); her son-in-law David "Chas" Charles; and her siblings, Mary Anderson, James Mays Jr. (Cheryl), Timothy Mays (Lisa), Farrell Mays (Vicki), Gerald Mays, Teena Williams and Rena Silvas. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
