She was predeceased by: her parents, Jessie Hill Cartwright and Thomas Walter Cartwright; her husband William Sneed; her siblings, Louis, Marvin, Herman, John Cartwright, Lucille, Lillie Mae, Martha and Rose Cartwright; her sons, Lawrence Gerald Newton and Paul Louis Newton; and her grandsons, Ray Pettigrew and William Antwuan Newton.

She is survived by: her children, Steven Jefferson, Elnora Newton and Arnita Newton-Collins; her nieces, Olivia Stowers and Theta Barlow; her sister-in-law Muriel Bransford; and her grandchildren, Tumikia Gilbert, Devonna Lowe, Gerald Moss, Sharon Newton, Brandy Newton, Loren Wilson, Roy-Melis Newton, Shandi Oaldon, Demetria Oaldon, Brittany Collins and Briana Collins. She is also survived by twenty-six great-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
