It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Tammi Kay Cunningham in Indianapolis, Indiana, born in Marion, Indiana, who passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Fredrick "Paul" Cunningham Sr.; and her siblings, Fredrick Cunningham Jr., Vic Cunningham, Robert Cunningham, Cathy Thompson, Terrie Haynes and Mary Ann Jones.
She is survived by: her brother Michael Haynes (Debi); her siblings' children, Jaron Simpson, Jalen Wingo (Sierra), Aimee Carter (Chris), Ronald Thompson Jr., Stacie Timmons (Ollie), Mistie Roffelsen (Scott), Michael Haynes II and Ashlee Wright; her sisters, Becky Shafer, Shirley Mitchem and Nancy Jones; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Michael (Kristen), Alyssa (Matt), Aaron (Leraya), Kia, Alaynee (Tommy), Austin, Caiden (Makenzie), Ambria, Koltyn, Kelcee, Aaron Jr., Xander Haynes, Alivia Riddle and Lexington Swygart; her sisters, Jill Guy and Lazett Haynes; and her close friend Stan Morrell. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, and special friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gethsemane Episcopal Church (111 E 9th St, Marion, IN 46953). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Her contributions to the sport of horseshoe pitching were significant; in 2011, she was inducted into the Indiana Horseshoe Association Hall of Fame after serving as secretary and treasurer for more than a decade.
