He was predeceased by: his father Richard Lee Whitsit; and his brother-in-law William Albert "Bill" Shearer, II. He is survived by: his mother Carol Sue Whitsit (Stollings); his sisters, Pamela J. Harding and Kristy D. Whitsit-Shearer; and his siblings' children, Anthony M. Whitsit, Tyler V. Whitsit, Morgan P. Scrimager, Jason P. Harding, Mason R. Harding and Olivia R. Harding. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
